Since 1962, we have acquired six different ambulances. We currently operate two NYS Department of Health certified Basic Life Support type III ambulances. They are designated by call signs 50-B1 and 50-B2.
50-B1, our newest ambulance acquired in 2009, was made possible by a generous grant from the Thomas and Agnes Carvel Foundation.
Each member receives CPR and driver training before he or she is permitted to ride any call. Each member is re-certified in CPR annually. We are chartered under the NYS Department of Health and follow their guidelines and protocols. Our EMTs are certified by NYS. We require monthly training for the entire corps in subjects related to types of injuries and situations we are likely to encounter.
