BUILDING FUND

In 1962 we needed a home. The New York City Water Company allowed us to use a parcel of land over the aqueduct. First National City Bank, now Citibank donated a prefab used building. The building had been used as a temporary bank on Central Avenue in Scarsdale. It was being replaced and the building was donated to ASVAC. One night, literally in the middle of the night, the building was loaded on a flat bed truck and transported over Ardsley Road to its present location on American Legion Drive.

After 42 years, our rig has grown in size and the building hasn’t. The roof leaks, the heating and A/C unit need work, we need decontamination sinks and proper storage for our medical equipment.

The building where we maintain the ambulance and conduct training for our volunteers is no longer able to support the many functions of an active ambulance corps. As our neighborhood and the surrounding villages age, we expect to be even more active. ASVAC must replace the present building, with a building that is state of the art, ready to serve our community for years to come.

All donations, regardless of amount assist us in providing quality emergence medical care. However, in this time of need, our goal for the new building with a safe access is $250,000.00. At this time, we ask that you open your heart and give as much as you can. Every dollar you contribute will go right to the new building.

ASVAC is eligible to receive funds from United Way or matching gifts from many corporations. If you would like to contribute made through, your employer to United way directed to ASVAC or have a matching gifts program, please speak to your personnel department at work.

Please give at this at this critical time. Over the years’ your generosity has been appreciated. However, it is needed now more than ever.
